Constantinian Order sends congratulatory messages for the 38th Anniversary of Independence of the Commonwealth of Dominica

Roseau, 3 November 2016. The Delegate for the Caribbean of the Sacred Military Constantinian Order of St George, Anthony Bailey congratulated on behalf of the Grand Master HRH The Duke of Castro, Grand Prior HE Renato Raffaele Cardinal Martino and our worldwide confraternity the national and religious leaders of the Commonwealth of Dominica on the occasion of the country’s 38th Anniversary of Independence Day.

In his congratulatory message Anthony said: “I am delighted to see that following the tragic events of last year due the passage of the tropical storm Erica, there is a renewed commitment to rebuilding your noble nation so well expressed by this year’s theme of celebrations.

The Constantinian Order very much values its association with Dominica and I strongly believe that the charitable work and good relations will continue to develop in the future.

On 3 November 1978, the island gained independence from Great Britain and became an independent republic within the Commonwealth. This year the celebrations theme is “Strengthening our Commitment to Nation Building”.

The Constantinian Order has been active in the Caribbean since 1981 with charitable projects in the fields of education, national patrimony and religious understanding in Antigua and Barbuda, Dominica, Grenada and St Lucia.
